This past week has ruled

WOW! This last week has been crazy! I just finished settling into my new place and getting adjusted to the new surroundings. I’ve been meeting lots of high-profile people in their respective industries that are super psyched on getting to know me and getting involved in some of my projects! Things feel like they are falling in place and the plans I have made are starting to gain some momentum. I’m very excited about the short terms plans for a few of my larger projects, I’ll keep everyone informed as things happen.

I just recently, with the help of my amazing parents, bought my first house in California. The whole change has felt like a dream from the start. When I walked into this house, I couldn’t believe it. If this could be my house.. I’d be the happiest Chase in the world! Turns out, less than 3 weeks later, with a lot of hard work and running around, I’m all moved in! It’s been great, the new office for my business is more than adequate and suits my needs perfectly. I’ve been focusing on setting everything up as organized and efficient as possible for my daily business. So far it’s been so productive and worthwhile I can barely believe it.

I’ve also been reading a lot more than usual this past week since I’ve moved into the house, I’m hoping the trend will continue. I enjoy reading but, over the last 2 or 3 years, could never “find the time” to sit down and read for enjoyment.  I also (Shhh) downloaded over 3000 ebooks that I’m going to sift through and pick some goodies out of. I’ve had the urge to brush up on my programming lately and read some new design and web programming books.

Well, until next post! Peace!

WEBDES1GN.net! Bout time!!

I’ve been wanting to make another computer/web related website for a looong time now. I used to run a tech site called ApogeeTek way back in the day. It got pretty popular for a good amount of time then I had to close it to down when I started working more and couldn’t keep up with it. I’ve always wanted to make another web-related site since then.

Since my focus has mostly shifted towards solely web design and development as my full-time occupation, what would be more fitting than a web design and development site? Obviously webdesign.com and .net were already taken so I decided I’d try webdes1gn.com since it looks almost the same but a little more l33t, ha! The .com was already taken but the .net was still available! BINGO!! It is currently under development along with all my other projects but I will marketing it heavily with the hosting and apache projects so it should get popular pretty quick.

bcgcbpro730.dll problem with Nero 7 Burning Rom

I opened Nero to burn a CD today and was faced with a windows error report screen. Every time I would try to open Nero it would crash just past the loading screen. When the error report came up I clicked more info to investigate the problem. I found bcgcbpro730.dll was the cause of the crash and began searching for a solution.

Now, mind you, just because Nero Burning Rom didn’t work, didn’t stop Nero Express at all. Which for me, quickly ruled out any serious underlying issue, it was probably gui related or a simple display issue. After digging through a few forum threads, I found the solution I had been looking for.

A registry setting handling various window display position and other interface-related settings was the culprit. Simply go into RegEdit (Start > Run > Regedit) and search for the key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ahead\Nero – Burning Rom\BCGWorkspace

Delete the key and all subkeys and BAM! no more Nero Burning Rom startup issues.

Alternate solution:

- Right-click Nero Start Smart and select properties
- Select Compatability tab
- Select Windows 2000 as the mode and hit Apply.
